This is a 4 year, limited term position at the Robinson Community Learning Center. The Director of Parenting Programs (Talk With Your Baby (TWYB) Program Director) is responsible for overall administration, program evaluation, and expansion of the TWYB Program. TWYB’s mission is to educate parents and caregivers on early brain and literacy development through the latest research findings. It focuses on strategies of talking, communicating, and interacting with children right from birth through 3 years, leading to outcomes in language and literacy development in school, social relationships, and throughout life.
Expanded curriculum and creation of online resources are expectations of the position. This position will work collaboratively with Notre Dame’s Center for Broader Impacts, other not-for-profits, and the City of South Bend. The director is also responsible for supervising 2-3 full-time and 4-5 part-time parent and teacher educators. A grant-funded limited-term curriculum director and part-time budget bookkeeper complete the staffing.
Supervision and consulting with outside providers is an additional responsibility.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Notre Dame’s Center for Broader Impact to design and implement program evaluation, including data collection and dissemination to partners.
Develop recruitment and marketing strategies to engage TWYB class participants and ensure classes are fully enrolled.
Oversee TWYB Program Expansion by developing relationships with community agencies and engaging new partners to offer classes in target locations.
Oversee community outreach, which will include community meetings, local media, and social media presence. Create online presence for resources statewide and classes within St. Joseph County and 4 outlying counties.
Supervise two full-time, one limited-term full-time, and two part-time staff members—the TWYB Coordinator and a Bilingual Parent Educator, as well as two Ameri Corps members.
Leverage pre-existing TWYB partnerships to ensure classes are offered at strategic locations throughout South Bend and neighboring counties according to grant expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (5 years) or advanced certification beyond Bachelor’s.
Experience:7 or more years.
Skills:Experience working in familyeducation, early childhoodeducation, or social work. Experience in program evaluation and community partnerships. Experience scaling existing programs. Experience marketing todiversepopulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree (Knowledge):Ph.D or Ed.D preferred;
Advanced degree inEducation, Psychology, Social Work, or Health-related fields.
