Communications Social Media Intern

Concordia is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, member-based organization dedicated to actively fostering, elevating, and sustaining cross-sector partnerships for social impact. As the preeminent nonpartisan forum and the biggest event taking place alongside the United Nations General Assembly, the Concordia Annual Summit in New York convenes top influencers and decision-makers through action-oriented programming. In addition to the Annual Summit, Concordia hosts retreat-style regional summits in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Amazon Rainforest, Europe, and the United States. By providing an international platform, these summits elevate unique cross-sector perspectives and identify the international community’s support.

The Communications Department is responsible for strategizing, shaping, and implementing all aspects of Concordia’s communications. The department establishes Concordia’s voice and produces all external-facing materials, including the website, reports, marketing materials, and email campaigns, while overseeing branding, design, press, media, and social media.

Position Description

The Communications Department is responsible for managing Concordia’s public voice across multiple platforms. The Social Media Intern will support content development, digital storytelling, influencer engagement, and strategic amplification of Concordia’s mission-driven initiatives.

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for a passionate storyteller who wants to gain hands-on experience in digital content creation, social media strategy, and influencer engagement for a globally recognized organization. The intern will support Concordia’s social media presence across platforms, helping to amplify our events, thought leadership, and mission-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

Create and assist in the development of social media content across platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and TikTok.

Draft, edit, and schedule posts aligned with Concordia’s formal, nonpartisan, and partnership-driven tone.

Support influencer and partnership outreach to enhance Concordia’s social media reach.

Monitor social media trends, current events, and engagement analytics to inform strategy.

Assist in live coverage of Concordia events, including the Annual Summit in New York, September 21-24.

Aid the Social Media Manager in daily organizational tasks and digital content management.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field.

Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to craft engaging, professional content.

Familiarity with Canva, CapCut, or other digital content creation tools.

Experience with social media scheduling and analytics platforms, such as Hootsuite, and familiarity with complementary platforms like Linktree.

Interest in global affairs, public-private partnerships, and social impact issues is a plus.

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
