Role Description The Senior Family Violence Prevention Coach is a full-time, on-site role based in Omaha, NE. This role focuses on coaching individuals and families impacted by or at risk for family violence, using trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized prevention and intervention plans, facilitating educational and support groups, and providing one-on-one coaching to promote safety, resilience, and healthy relationships. The coach collaborates closely with internal clinical staff, external community partners, and legal and medical professionals to coordinate care and advocate for clients. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in case conferences, contributing to program development and outreach activities, and supporting community education initiatives related to family violence prevention.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including active listening, empathy, de-escalation, and clear documentation.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Family Law and related legal processes affecting family violence, protection orders, custody, and safety planning.
- Candidates should possess Case Management skills, including assessment, service planning, referral coordination, and follow-up.
- Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of Medicine and Family Medicine as they relate to the physical and mental health impacts of family violence.
- Relevant qualifications include experience in family violence prevention, domestic violence services, or trauma-informed care in community or clinical settings.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, public health, or a related field; familiarity with culturally specific interventions; and experience working with diverse and underserved populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, maintain professional boundaries, uphold confidentiality, and demonstrate commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training, maintain any required certifications or licenses, and adapt to evolving best practices in family violence prevention.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Public Health,
- Psychology, Criminal Justice, Behavioral Health, or a closely related field preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of relevant education and professional experience may be
- considered.
- Valid Nebraska driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and
proof of insurance that meets agency requirements.
- Successful completion of criminal background and child/adult abuse registry
clearances.
- Drug testing required.
- Personal commitment to the mission, vision, and values of CHD.
