Senior Administrative Assistant

Washington, DC | Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

LHH is partnering with a respected nonprofit organization in Washington, DC, to identify an experienced Senior Administrative Assistant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This position offers the chance to become a key partner to executive leadership while supporting the day-to-day operations of a mission-driven organization.

We are seeking a polished, highly organized professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats, managing competing priorities, and building strong relationships across all levels of an organization. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and discretion are essential.

What You'll Do

  • Act as a trusted administrative partner to executive leadership, helping ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, and internal communications while managing shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Facilitate meeting logistics, including conference room reservations, virtual meeting setup, attendee coordination, and special event support.
  • Prepare and refine business correspondence, reports, presentations, and other professional documents.
  • Coordinate business travel arrangements and support leaders with detailed planning and preparation for meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Assist with expense tracking, invoice processing, and other operational support functions.
  • Organize and maintain records, documents, and information systems while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Build positive working relationships with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Support leadership meetings through coordination of materials, follow-up activities, and documentation as needed.
  • Contribute to special projects and departmental initiatives that support organizational objectives.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience providing administrative or operational support in a professional office environment.
  • Previous experience supporting executives, senior leaders, or high-level business functions strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing responsibilities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and manage sensitive or confidential information appropriately.
  • Proven ability to build productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Resourceful problem-solver with a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
