We’re looking for an organized, thoughtful, and community-minded Programs & Community Coordinator to help build, grow, and bring Sol Well’s programs and experiences to life.
Working alongside the Founder, you’ll support the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of programs that bring our mission to life. From helping shape new initiatives and community experiences to coordinating workshops, partnerships, and member engagement, you’ll play an important role in building the foundation of a growing nonprofit.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning ideas into action, creating meaningful experiences, and helping build something from the ground up. While most of this role is remote, there will be opportunities to support Sol Well at select in-person programs, community events, and partner activations throughout New York and New Jersey.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the development and launch of new Sol Well programs, initiatives, and community experiences.
- Support special projects and emerging organizational priorities as Sol Well continues to grow.
- Help translate ideas into actionable plans, timelines, and project workflows.
- Coordinate the logistics that bring programs to life—from workshops and virtual conversations to community activations and pilot initiatives.
- Maintain program calendars, planning documents, and shared resources.
- Support participant communications, onboarding, and engagement across programs.
- Collaborate with internal volunteers, facilitators, and community partners.
- Help evaluate programs by gathering feedback and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Provide light coordination for volunteers supporting community initiatives.
- Contribute ideas that strengthen Sol Well’s programming as the organization continues to grow.
What We’re Looking For:
- Applicants committed to Sol Well’s mission of advancing the mental health and well-being of Black and Brown mothers. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including college students and recent graduates who are excited to help build something meaningful.
- Someone who believes in Sol Well’s mission and is passionate about supporting the mental health and well-being of Black and Brown mothers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience supporting programs, events, community initiatives, or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Zoom, Canva, Airtable, or other project management tools is helpful.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative team player who is excited to contribute, learn, and grow alongside the organization.
What We Offer:
- The opportunity to help build a growing nonprofit advancing maternal mental health and community well-being.
- Hands-on experience developing community programs, initiatives, and partnerships from the ground up.
- Meaningful mentorship from Sol Well’s Founder and opportunities to learn about nonprofit leadership, strategy, and program development.
- A collaborative, mission-driven team where your ideas and contributions are valued.
- Flexible scheduling that can accommodate work, school, or other commitments.
- Opportunities to expand your skills in project coordination, community engagement, and nonprofit operations.
- A strong letter of recommendation upon successful completion of your volunteer or internship commitment.
- The chance to be part of a movement working to ensure Black and Brown mothers have the support they deserve.
Time Commitment:
- Approximately 10–20 hours per month, with flexibility based on organizational priorities and upcoming programs.
- This role is primarily remote.
- Volunteers should be available to attend occasional in-person meetings, community events, or partner activations throughout New York City and Northern New Jersey as schedules permit.
