The Albertsons Companies Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that works with Albertsons Companies Inc. to raise and distribute funds that make our communities better because we have a store there. This position works with a team of professionals, managing more than $40 million in annual corporate giving and community relations programs.

This position supports the company’s goals of enabling over 1.5 billion meals by 2030 and investing $10 million annually in innovative programs and partnerships to help break the cycle of hunger in the communities we serve through our Nourishing Neighbors program. In addition, the Foundation has a program to provide financial support to associates during personal hardships and natural disasters through our We Care program.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, this position will be responsible for the Foundation’s giving strategy, execution, and management. This will include being positioned as a key resource to the Division Public Affairs staff. This position will also have responsibility for the Foundation’s overall communications plan and will be asked to work with Albertsons Companies Advertising and Marketing teams on the execution of key initiatives.

This position is located in Pleasanton, CA, Boise, ID or any of our division office locations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, implement and manage all details related to a broad range of annual and quarterly charitable giving and community relations programs. This can include strategizing with our partners on creative ideas to raise money and make a better impact in our local communities.
  • Design and maintain our giving strategy. This includes processing grant requests and working with potential partners, proactively developing strategies and partnerships with organizations, and answering all questions and calls from interested organizations.
  • Plan and execute all Foundation communications including employee communication surrounding in-store campaigns, building strategies to engage our corporate employees in campaigns and volunteer efforts, execute all elements of a communication plan working cross-functionally with other areas of the organization, and develop creative concepts and maintain all digital and social media outlets.
  • Track budgets for large-scale fundraising activities and local company giving.
  • Represent the Foundation at community events conveying our giving priorities.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Possess The Following

  • Strong organization and planning skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple community relations and corporate giving programs
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated leadership and program management skills.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, resourceful. Team player with the ability to work collaboratively to accomplish goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to organize, manage and implement strategic plans.
  • College Degree in Public Relations non-profit management or communications.
  • 3 or more years of experience in managing large-scale fundraising events/programs.
  • 3 or more years of experience developing programs and maintaining them in the non-profit sector.
  • 3 or more years of experience working on developing strategic plans and execution of marketing, advertising, and/or public affairs.
  • 2 or more years managing staff and volunteers.
  • 3-5 years data/budget management with strong database management and Excel skills
  • Travel Requirement: up to 20%
