Vogel is seeking a dynamic Major Gifts Officer to join our Development Team and play a key role in growing our philanthropic support.
As a Major Gifts Officer, you will work closely with the President/CEO and Chief Development Officer to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, ensuring alignment with our mission and fundraising goals. This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary range of $100,000 – $137,500 per year, depending on experience.

Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC-accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What You’ll Do
Identify and Cultivate Donors – Research, engage, and build meaningful relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporations with the capacity for significant contributions.
Solicit Major Gifts – Develop and execute personalized solicitation strategies, including proposal creation and donor presentations.
Steward Donor Relationships – Maintain ongoing donor engagement through consistent communication, impact updates, and recognition efforts to foster long-term giving.
Collaborate with Leadership – Work with the President/CEO and Chief Development Officer to align major gifts strategies with organizational priorities and fundraising goals.
Engage in Events & Campaigns – Participate in fundraising events and campaigns to cultivate and strengthen donor relationships.
Manage Donor Data – Maintain accurate donor records in the donor management system, tracking contributions, interactions, and key metrics.
Stay Ahead of Industry Trends – Keep up with best practices in major gifts fundraising and seek professional development opportunities to enhance expertise.
What Will Make You Successful in This Role (Must-Haves)
5+ years of experience in major gifts fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit setting, with a proven track record of securing significant contributions.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., fundraising, nonprofit management, business administration).
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage high-net-worth donors.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to create compelling donor messaging.
Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to the mission and values of Vogel.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification is preferred.
Experience working with high-level donors in a senior fundraising capacity.
