The Texas Cultural Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to be the leading voice of the arts in education, advocacy, and economic impact in Texas, spotlighting the artistic excellence of our state. We carry out our mission through a variety of programs, events, and initiatives, including Art Can, Texas Young Masters, Texas Medal of Arts Awards, Texas Women for the Arts, Partners in the Arts, and Arts Access.

Position Summary

The Texas Cultural Trust is seeking an intern to support the organization’s day-to-day operations and programs. Interns will gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience with the daily operations of a nonprofit organization. They will have the opportunity to learn about program operations, communications and outreach, donor development, administration, and event planning.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong written correspondence.
  • Maintaining and updating the Trust’s databases and calendars.
  • Organizing and maintaining physical and digital files, program collateral, office materials, and event supplies.
  • Communicating with the Trust’s various constituent groups, partners, and vendors via phone and email.
  • Conducting research.
  • Providing support for projects and initiatives.
  • Assisting with event planning, logistics, and execution.
  • Answering phones.
  • Running errands as needed.
  • Other administrative duties as directed by the intern coordinator.

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Compensation, Hours, and Location:

The Texas Cultural Trust is seeking an intern who can ideally begin during the Fall semester and continue through future semesters. We are happy to accommodate class schedules, school breaks, holidays, and exam periods.

Interns must commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours.

This internship pays $12 per hour, and parking is provided. The Texas Cultural Trust office is located at Bee Caves Road and MoPac in Austin, Texas.
