Title: Volunteer Communications Campaign Manager

Company: Casa da Cultura do Brasil no Canadá

Location: Quebec, Canada

About Us

The House of Brazilian Culture in Canada (HBCC) is a newly founded non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Brazilian Portuguese language and cultural initiatives that celebrate Brazil’s diversity and heritage. We are currently building a team of volunteers, and we need a Volunteer Communications Campaign Manager to support our growing operations.

Role Overview

We are looking for a results-driven professional who can develop and execute a communication strategy to lead the promotion of our annual survey. The Communications Campaign Manager will:

  • Develop a communications and outreach strategy to maximize survey participation.
  • Create a promotional campaign and content calendar leading up to and during the survey period (from August to October).
  • Build relationships with Brazilian community organizations, associations, cultural groups, student organizations, businesses, and media outlets.
  • Coordinate media outreach, including press releases and interview opportunities.
  • Recommend strategies for leveraging newsletters, WhatsApp communities, Facebook groups, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
  • Coordinate the creation of promotional content, including social media posts, graphics, or even short videos.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide regular progress updates.

What We’re Looking For

Our Communications Campaign Manager is someone with:

  • Experience in communications, public relations, marketing, community engagement, or campaign management.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills in Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Experience managing digital communications and social media campaigns.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating with volunteers.
  • Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese (required).
  • Experience living in Canada (an asset).

Candidates do not necessarily need to have extensive professional experience, as HBCC is a place where volunteers can grow, develop new skills, and demonstrate their abilities. We value creativity and a willingness to learn just as much as previous experience.

What You’ll Gain

  • A letter of reference or volunteer certificate upon request.
  • Flexible hours and the autonomy to manage your own schedule.
  • Real leadership experience by coordinating a small team of volunteers.
  • The opportunity to build a portfolio with measurable impact.
  • Hands-on experience in nonprofit comms and community engagement.
  • The chance to make a meaningful contribution to the Brazilian community in Canada.
