POSITION SUMMARY
4Roots Farm is seeking a Part-Time Greenhouse Associate to support daily greenhouse operations and broader farm activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with plants, being outdoors, and contributing to a mission-driven organization focused on sustainable agriculture, education, and community engagement.
The Greenhouse Assistant will help maintain healthy plant production through tasks such as seeding, transplanting, harvesting, plant care, and greenhouse sanitation. In addition, this position will support miscellaneous farm duties as needed to ensure smooth operations across the 4Roots Farm campus.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to work outdoors and in greenhouse environments in Florida weather conditions
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, and carrying (up to ~40 lbs)
- Strong work ethics with attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Morning availability required
- Ability to work a part-time schedule, including occassional weekends as needed.
Preferred:
- Interest in agriculture, horticulture, or plant production
- Previous greenhoyse or farm experience
- Open availability is a plus
What You’ll Do
Greenhouse Operations
- Assist with seeding, transplanting, and propagation of crops.
- Support harvesting activities for greenhouse-grown produce.
- Perform routine plant care, including watering, pruning, trellising, and monitoring plant health.
- Maintain clean and organized greenhouse spaces, including sanitation of tools, trays, and work areas.
- Assist with integrated pest management practices and basic crop monitoring.
- Prepare seed trays, soil media, and planting materials.
Farm Support
- Assist with general farm tasks as needed across the campus.
- Support preparation for harvests, events, and educational programs when requested.
- Help maintain clean and organized workspaces throughout farm facilities.
- Participate in occasional landscape or field support tasks when greenhouse workload allows.
