Position Purpose

Game Changers is an embedded mentoring program in which a full-time Game Changers Coach serves as the primary mentor for approximately 40 students within a partner school. The Coach is based at the school and works directly with students throughout the school day to provide consistent mentoring, support, and skill development.

The Game Changers Coordinator oversees the implementation and quality of the program across partner schools. This role provides ongoing match support for the relationships between Coaches and students, ensures adherence to BBBSA Standards of Practice and child safety policies, and supports Coaches in delivering effective mentoring services. The Coordinator also maintains strong partnerships with school staff and administrators and oversees student enrollment and program participation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day match support for a caseload of Game Changers program matches.
  • Implement match support best practices as noted in the BBBSA Standards of Practice and Service Delivery Model by documenting and monitoring all elements of match support and supervision.
  • Ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all job functions.
  • Conduct match support contacts in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to the schedule required by BBBSA.
  • Provide coaching, support, referrals, and other information as needed to match participants.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to match participants when program guidelines are not being met.
  • Conduct required surveys and updates to the Youth Development Plan.
  • Ensure all data is entered into Matchforce in an accurate and timely manner and maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Implement and promote match activities and program engagement strategies to support ongoing volunteer involvement and student participation.

General Responsibilities

·      Attend required meetings and events as scheduled.

·      Establish and promote positive communication among all BBBSGC team members.

·      Maintain a high level of professionalism while representing BBBSGC in school settings, serving as a positive and respectful ambassador of the organization.

·      Abide by BBBSGC policies and practices.

·      Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience working in a nonprofit or school setting

·      Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds

·      Valid driver’s license with minimum state-required automobile insurance

·      Strong relationship-building and communication skills across diverse populations

·      Able to pass a background checks including National Sex Offender Registry, Criminal History, and driving record check

·      Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard office equipment

Physical Demands / Work Environment

·      Travel approximately 20% of the time to meet agency needs, attend conferences, meetings, or visit homes and places of employment (generally within Greater Cincinnati).
