Position: Face to Face Fundraiser

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Face to Face Fundraiser role based in Plymouth. The fundraiser will engage directly with members of the public in residential areas and at events to represent charity partners, explain their missions clearly, and inspire people to become long-term donors. Day-to-day tasks include approaching potential supporters, delivering confident and accurate fundraising pitches, answering questions, and recording donor information in line with data protection guidelines.

The role also involves meeting personal and team fundraising targets, adhering to ethical fundraising standards, and participating in regular training and mentoring sessions to continually improve performance. Team members are expected to collaborate closely with colleagues and managers, maintain a professional appearance, and contribute to a positive, inclusive working culture.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage strangers, listen actively, and build rapport quickly.
  • Sales or customer-facing experience (e.g., retail, hospitality, door-to-door, events) and confidence in presenting information in a clear, persuasive manner.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with the ability to work to targets, manage time effectively, and stay resilient in the face of rejection.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills, with a positive attitude toward feedback, coaching, and shared success.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical fundraising practices, including respect for diverse communities and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work on-site in Plymouth on a full-time schedule, including some evenings and weekends as required.
  • Basic IT and record-keeping skills for accurately capturing donor details and reporting daily results.
  • Previous fundraising experience is an advantage but not essential; full training and ongoing mentoring will be provided.
