Full-Cycle Accountant

Reflections of Trinity

Put your accounting skills to work for a greater purpose!

Our local nonprofit organization, Reflections of Trinity, supports a community Food Pantry and is looking for a motivated, self-driven Full-Cycle Accountant to join our team and make an impact every day.

Are you ready to put your accounting expertise to work for a greater purpose?

We’re searching for a detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive accounting professional who can manage multiple priorities, work independently, and bring a genuine heart for service to their work. The Full-Cycle Accountant plays an important role in keeping our organization financially strong, organized, and accountable so that we can continue serving our community.

If you enjoy taking ownership, solving problems, staying organized, and knowing that your work directly supports a meaningful mission, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

About the Position

The Full-Cycle Accountant is responsible for managing the organization’s day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, and properly documented.

This position will work across the accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, payroll support, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation.

We are looking for someone who doesn’t just enter numbers—but understands the importance of those numbers and the story they tell about the health and stewardship of our organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions, deposits, and expenses.
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Maintain the general ledger and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports and accounting schedules.
  • Assist with budgeting.
  • Help track and properly account for nonprofit revenue, donations, and restricted funds.
  • Assist with grant reporting, audit preparation, and other financial compliance activities.
  • Identify discrepancies and work proactively to resolve them.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation.
  • Help improve accounting procedures, systems, and internal controls.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, donor, and organizational information.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership and staff to support the organization’s financial needs.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who is:

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • A problem solver who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Dependable and trustworthy, particularly when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a nonprofit environment.
  • Mission-minded and excited about using their professional skills to serve the community.
  • A strong communicator who can work effectively with staff and leadership.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel or spreadsheet skills.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with fund accounting, restricted funds, grants, or donor accounting is a plus.
  • Payroll experience is a plus.
