2. About the Opportunity:
The organization is seeking a Benefits Specialist to support the People Experience department through effective administration of employee benefits. This position ensures smooth enrollment and claims resolution processes, supports new employee orientation, and maintains accurate benefits records. The role contributes to efficient human resource operations and a positive employee experience.
3. Responsibilities:
• Administer employee benefits and manage new employee enrollment procedures.
• Ensure timely benefits enrollment through online systems.
• Plan and facilitate new employee orientation sessions.
• Manage benefit elections, changes due to qualifying life events, and terminations.
• Oversee Health Savings Account (H.S.A.) enrollment.
• Approve benefit election summaries.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of leave of absence policies, eligibility, and benefits.
• Ensure compliance with COBRA regulations and coordinate with third-party COBRA administrators.
• Respond to requests from staff, brokers, and medical institutions within 24 hours.
• Provide backup support for benefit reconciliation processes.
• Address in-person inquiries and provide general assistance.
• Generate correspondence for staff, management, and insurance providers.
• Compile data for compliance, audits, and renewal reports.
• Collaborate with supervisors to address staff and program needs.
4. Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year of direct experience in Benefits Administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Salary: $62,000 annually.
