Texas Family Initiative, LLC is a private nonprofit organization that provides experience,compassion,quality care, and services for children in foster care and foster/adopt families. We hold Foster Care Recruitment Contracts with the Texas Department of Human Services, Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). As a partner with DFPS, we recruit and train families to become foster and/or adoptive parents.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in the field of human services or a related field.

Valid driver’s license and meet agency underwriting standards.

The Family Initiative, Inc. is the parent company providing services in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. We provide service to these areas through our affiliates: TFI Family Connections in Oklahoma and Texas Family Initiative in Texas. Pathway Family Services is an affiliate in Kansas offering additional services to youth and families. Mainstream Nonprofit Solutions is an affiliate supporting the TFI Family of Companies and other Nonprofits.

As a Family Navigator, you will be responsible for aspects of resource recruitment in region 2, which includes a coverage area of 30 counties ranging from Abilene (Taylor County), Brownwood (Brown County), and Wichita Falls (Wichita County) and the outlying counties between these areas.

The Family Navigator will be responsible for recruitment activities that include responding to and following up on resource requests, marketing in the region to acquire more contracted providers, and analyzing each county’s needs and demographics to determine appropriate resource needs.

The Family Navigator will seek opportunities in respective counties to conduct presentations and participate in speaking engagements that enhance community awareness and increase partnership potential with community resources. This position will deal with adiversegroup of important external clients in the community and internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment and creativity are required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload throughout a large coverage area.

Gather and analyze data to determine needs by county within the region where resources for the children and families served are lacking. Resource recruitment could include, but is not limited to, individual counseling providers, parenting providers, and substance abuse, mental health, and family violence resources. The Family Navigator will work to identify organizations or providers to partner with to fill the service gaps in each of the counties throughout the region.

Seek opportunities to enhance community awareness and aid in resource recruitment efforts by attendingcommunity eventsin the region, networking with local social organizations and citizens, setting up a booth/table to provide the community with information at local events, and presenting to the community via schools, local social groups/organizations, county boards, courts, etc.
