Seattle Yacht Club is seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the operational readiness, maintenance coordination, marina support functions, and facilities operations of the Club’s Mainstation and outstation properties.

This leadership role is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and member-focused operations across multiple Club facilities while leading day-to-day facilities management activities, supervising operational staff, coordinating vendors and contractors, and supporting long-term operational planning.

The ideal candidate brings strong operational leadership experience, sound judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic hospitality and facilities environment.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000–$140,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Position Details

• Location: Seattle, WA (on-site)

• Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, emergencies, and operational needs

• Reports To: General Manager

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee daily operations, maintenance coordination, repair activities, and presentation standards across Club properties

• Establish operational priorities for facilities and maintenance teams

• Conduct regular property walkthroughs and support corrective action planning

• Help ensure facilities remain safe, clean, operationally ready, and aligned with member service expectations

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise facilities and operational personnel, including maintenance and marina-related leadership staff

• Support recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and employee development

• Promote a culture of accountability, safety, professionalism, and member-focused service

Facilities & Systems Oversight

• Coordinate maintenance and operational response activities involving building systems, docks, utilities, and related infrastructure

• Support preventive maintenance scheduling and inspection processes

• Coordinate internal resources and external vendors to address operational and maintenance priorities

Vendor & Financial Coordination

• Coordinate vendor and contractor activities, scheduling, and service oversight

• Review invoices and maintain operational cost documentation within approved authority levels

• Assist with facilities budgeting, expenditure tracking, and operational reporting

Safety & Risk Management

• Support workplace safety initiatives and OSHA/Accident Prevention compliance efforts

• Coordinate incident reporting and corrective action follow-up

• Assist with emergency preparedness and operational response planning

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Club departments to support member programs, events, and operational needs

• Provide operational updates and recommendations to Club leadership

• Participate in interdepartmental planning and operational coordination efforts

Capital Projects Support

• Serve as an operational liaison for approved capital and renovation projects

• Coordinate operational access, scheduling, and communication during active projects

• Provide operational input regarding project timing, logistics, and day-to-day impact

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of facilities, marina, hospitality, property, or multi-site operations management experience

• Minimum 2 years of direct supervisory or people-management experience

• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and cross-functional operational activities

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Experience in private club, marina, hospitality, nonprofit, or member-service environments

• Familiarity with building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems

• Experience with facilities management or CMMS software platforms

• Professional certifications such as CFM, FMP, or related credentials

• Experience supporting waterfront, historic, or multi-property operations

Working Conditions

This position primarily works on-site across Seattle Yacht Club properties in both indoor and outdoor environments. Responsibilities may include extended walking, standing, stair climbing, occasional dock access, and lifting consistent with operational needs.
