Lead a high-impact US foundation to expand philanthropic support and global engagement for one of Latin America’s leading universities.
The University of the Andes Foundation seeks a strategic and relationship-driven advancement leader to serve as its next Executive Director, guiding philanthropic growth on behalf of one of Latin America’s most respected universities.
Based in the United States and working in close partnership with leadership in Bogotá, this individual will lead a dynamic foundation that connects donors, alumni, and partners across North America with the mission and momentum of the Universidad de los Andes.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will serve as chief executive and primary fundraiser, managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors while strengthening the Foundation’s advancement infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute a comprehensive US-based advancement strategy, including major, principal, and planned giving.
- Build and steward relationships with high-net-worth donors and key stakeholders across North America.
- Partner closely with university leadership to align philanthropic priorities with institutional goals.
- Strengthen the Foundation’s donor pipeline, engagement strategies, and overall fundraising performance.
- Guide Board engagement and organizational operations to ensure strong governance and sustainable growth.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Seven to ten years of progressive leadership experience in advancement within complex nonprofit or higher education environments.
- Demonstrated success securing major and principal gifts at the six- and seven-figure level.
- Experience working with boards, managing budgets, and leading teams.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- International fundraising experience and/or ties to Colombia or Latin America preferred.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $230,000–$260,000.
