cARTie seeks an Early Childhood Art Museum Educator to work part-time across multiple sites. This Early Childhood Art Museum Educator will join and collaborate with a team of other early childhood art museum educators. They are responsible for co-facilitating art and museum enrichment programs for classes of PK-2 students, documenting students’ learning, and supporting the prep and development of lesson plans. At times, the Early Childhood Art Museum Educator will also be involved in community programs. They will engage in regular professional learning with The cARTie Curriculum, and gain knowledge about The Reggio Emilia Approach, Artful Thinking, Studio Habits of Mind, Mindfulness Education, Visual Thinking Strategies, Inquiry-Based Learning, Standards, Emotional Intelligence, and other strategies.

cARTie is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization located in Connecticut. As Connecticut’s first and only mobile art bus for kids, cARTie fills an important gap in the provision of art and museum education. Our mission is to bridge inequities in education and arts access across Connecticut by bringing the museum field trip to schools and students directly.

Working Conditions

The Early Childhood Art Museum Educator will work from a variety of environments. They must, at times, be able to work in a home office environment, aboard the museum bus for school visits across Connecticut, and from the cARTie office space in Shelton, CT. The mission of cARTie may sometimes also take the Early Childhood Art Museum Educator to nonstandard workplaces. They should be prepared for frequent moving, standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds.

Hours

The Early Childhood Art Museum Educator will work approximately 1-3 days per week, as needed and as their availability allows. They collaborate with cARTie’s Leadership Team to set their schedule based on the availability of school visit programming and other training opportunities.

Wage

The Early Childhood Art Museum Educator is paid $18/hour with opportunity for growth.
