Who We AreMothers’ Milk Bank Austin (MMBA) is a nonprofit founded in 1999 to save the lives of babies through the dispensing of prescribed, pasteurized donor breast milk. MMBA has many programs, including a milk processing lab, a recipient family and hospital community, volunteers, milk donors and ambassadors, community education initiatives, and more.

Milk Donor Program Assistant Role
This full-time position supports the Milk Donor Program and reports to the Milk Donor Program Manager. The person in this position is responsible primarily for building relationships with lactating moms who apply to be milk donors, shepherding applicants through the 4-step process of becoming an approved milk donor, including a phone screening and completion of their paperwork, and continuing regular communication to obtain updated medical information. This person contributes to having an efficient, effective, and organized workplace, and makes everyone they speak with feel valued and supported.
Responsibilities:
● Demonstrate excellent customer service and professional communication by phone, email & fax, and in person
● Facilitate a trusting and supportive relationship with prospective and approved donors
● Respond to inquiries from approved and prospective donors promptly and efficiently and collaborate with other team members to ensure that no donor slips through the cracks
● Organize, track, and maintain accurate data using Salesforce, Timeless Medical Systems, Excel, and Google Sheets
● Interface effectively with the other milk bank programs
● Assist with other mission-related activities as needed ,including events that may happen outside of business hours
Key Qualifications
● Mission oriented
● Committed to organizational values
● Strong organization and communication skills
● Phone customer service experience and extremely comfortable talking on the phone and in person with individuals
● Great customer service skills
● Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines- ability to multitask is a must
● Technologically savvy, proficient in multiple software programs, Salesforce a plus
● Ability to work independently, with some team collaboration
● Strong work ethic and commitment to deadlines without requiring micro-management
Additional Details
· Position Type: Full-time, non-exempt
· Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9-5
· Location: This job is in-person at our office at 5925 Dillard Circle, Austin TX 78752
· Salary Range: $20 – 24 per hour, based on experience
· Benefits: Hourly position eligible for full benefits including earned PTO, sick leave, medical and life insurance, 401K investment plan, and dental plan.
