Summary
As a Direct Care Worker at Arkay Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. This position is essential in fostering independence and community integration for those we serve.
Responsibilities
Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in daily living activities.
Assist clients in developing vocational skills and achieving personal goals.
Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
Foster a supportive environment that encourages independence and self-advocacy.
Collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
Document client progress and maintain accurate records of services provided.
Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in care provision.
Engage clients in community activities to promote social inclusion.
Qualifications
Experience in social work or direct care roles, preferably with individuals with disabilities.
Strong understanding of workforce development principles and practices.
Ability to develop training programs tailored to individual needs.
Experience working with people on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Commitment to promoting the dignity and independence of individuals served.
Knowledge of relevant employment labor laws is a plus but not required.
