Compensation: $65,000-$75,000, commensurate with experience

Camelot for Children is a nonprofit organization providing year-round social, recreational, and educational opportunities to children with disabilities and chronic or terminal illnesses. Our mission is to make the magic of childhood accessible to children with unique needs in a safe, supportive, and enriching environment. 

Compensation & Benefits 

Classification & Overtime: Full-time, exempt position under FLSA. Overtime eligibility and hour tracking follow Camelot policy and applicable law. 

Paid Time Off (PTO): PTO accrual, use, and carryover/payout are administered in accordance with Camelot’s Employee Handbook. PTO requests require supervisor approval and should align with program and event calendars. 

Holidays & Office Closures: Camelot observes major holidays and designated office closures; the specific schedule is communicated annually and outlined in the Employee Handbook. 

Sick Time & Leaves: Sick time, bereavement, jury duty, and other leaves are provided per Camelot policy and applicable law. Employment is at-will. 

Retirement: Eligible employees can join Camelot’s retirement savings program, which helps with long-term financial planning and includes a company matching contribution. 

Professional Development: Camelot supports role-relevant training and conferences aligned to organizational needs and the responsibilities of this position, consistent with budget and policy. 

Work Flexibility: Evening and weekend hours may be necessary to accommodate events; scheduling arrangements are designed to support program and fundraising requirements. Camelot is committed to providing flexibility, especially during the academic year and when outside the regular program or fundraising schedule. 

Position Overview 

The Director of Development and Engagement leads fundraising and donor engagement strategies to ensure sustainable resources for Camelot’s programs. This role focuses on cultivating relationships, managing campaigns, and driving revenue through grants, events, and community partnerships. 

Key Responsibilities 

Fundraising & Donor Relations: 

  • Develop and execute annual fundraising plan. 
  • Cultivate and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors. 
  • Oversee donor database and ensure accurate reporting. 

Grant Research & Management: 

  • Identify and apply for grants to increase funding by at least 10% within 18 months. 
  • Track deadlines and compliance requirements. 

Event Planning & Community Engagement: 

  • Lead major fundraising events and community initiatives. 
  • Increase event attendance and community participation by 50% annually. 

Marketing & Brand Awareness: 

  • Collaborate on campaigns to boost social media engagement. 

Volunteer Development: 

  • Support recruitment and retention strategies to grow volunteer base. 

Committee Lead/Staff Liaison: 

  • Lead or support Event committees 
  • Staff Liaison for Board Fundraising and Marketing committee 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, or related field. 
  • 3–5 years experience in fundraising or development roles. 
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with donor management systems and grant writing. 
  • Valid driver’s license
