Supervisor: EVP of Advancement 

 

Overview: 

The Development Associate supports the daily operations of the Advancement Department, with a focus on fundraising campaigns, marketing efforts, and event planning to strengthen donor and client engagement. Key responsibilities include data entry, donor communications, grant support, event coordination, and individual giving initiatives that align with broader departmental and organizational goals. This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit advancement within a community health clinic setting, with strong potential for professional growth within the organization. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Provide operational and administrative support to the Advancement department and contribute to the achievement of fundraising and marketing goals. 

Perform donor and donation data entry, prepare tax acknowledgements, maintain accurate records and up-to-date information within the CRM system. 

Facilitate donor communication and outreach initiatives. 

Support grant-related tasks, event planning, and marketing management. 

Complete all tasks accurately and timely. 

 

Areas of Accountability: 

Donor Management: 

Ensure accurate data entry and reporting in CRM platforms. 

Provide accurate reporting on donor activity for monthly reports and forecasts. 

Communicate donor impact and recognition. 

Marketing and Communications: 

Assist in the execution of marketing and fundraising strategies. 

Support internal and external communication initiatives and projects. 

Donor Engagement and Stewardship: 

Assist in cultivating and managing relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors. 

Implement and execute donor recognition initiatives. 

 

 

Event Support: 

Assist with agency and community event coordination. 

Assist in planning donor meetings and events. 

Grant Management: 

Contribute to grant proposal writing and tracking funding metrics. 

Help to identify and evaluate funding opportunities and track grant writing activities. 

Reporting and Administration: 

Provide reporting on donor activities and departmental metrics. 

Assist Executive Assistant with administrative duties as needed. 

Collaboration and Networking: 

Maintain relationships with community and business partners. 

Collaborate with the other members of the Advancement team, and other departments, on strategic initiatives. 

Additional Duties: 

Perform other assigned duties to support departmental and agency goals. 

 

Education and Background Requirements: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. 

Experience: 2-3 years in marketing, communications, or fundraising with a proven record of accomplishment in donor/client engagement. 

Skills: 

Exceptional communication and writing capabilities. 

Proficient in CRM, email marketing, and website management. 

High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

Strong grammar, proofreading, and organizational skills. 

Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork and partnerships. 

Work Ethic: Commitment to excellence, confidentiality, and handling sensitive information; flexible and self-motivated in a dynamic environment. 

 

Continuing Education and Training Requirements: 

Participate in required training by the agency or funding sources.
