About this Role
Are you someone who enjoys hands-on work, helping others, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families? As a DME Technician, you’ll play an important role in ensuring patients have the durable medical equipment they need—delivered safely, set up properly, and ready to use.
Reporting to the Director of Hospice, you’ll work directly with patients, families, and caregivers while also managing equipment, inventory, maintenance, and repairs. This is a hands-on role where your reliability, technical skills, and compassion truly matter.

- Educate caregivers on the proper and safe use and transportation of equipment.
- Receive, inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment as needed.
- Remove malfunctioning equipment from service and properly tag it.
- Complete equipment checks, routine maintenance, and monthly service documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and equipment inventory.
- Track equipment both in the field and in the shop and communicate equipment needs to leadership.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of all assigned equipment and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain patient and family privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Provide respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental service to patients and families from a variety of backgrounds.
- Help maintain a clean and organized shop and office environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and leadership.
- Use good judgment and problem-solving skills to navigate challenges and difficult situations.
- Take call and assist with other responsibilities as assigned.
What makes this role different
- This is more than a delivery position—you’re an important part of the patient-care experience. The equipment you deliver can provide comfort, safety, independence, and peace of mind for patients and their families.
- You’ll have the opportunity to combine hands-on technical work with meaningful, face-to-face interactions. Every day brings something different, and your attention to detail, dependability, and willingness to help can make a real difference.
- At WTRC, teamwork, quality care, integrity, compassion, and excellence are at the heart of how we serve our patients and one another.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous knowledge or experience with home medical equipment, delivery practices, paperwork, and general DME policies and procedures is preferred.
