About the role
The Corporate Brand Officer supports Fulbright’s institutional brand and reputation by developing high-quality brand content, monitoring public and media conversations, supporting media and stakeholder engagement, and ensuring consistent messaging across corporate communications channels.
The role helps discover and shape stories from across the Fulbright community and translate them into clear, credible, and brand-aligned communications assets. Working closely with the Corporate Brand Lead and other members of the Marketing and Communications team, the Corporate Brand Officer contributes to strengthening Fulbright’s visibility, reputation, stakeholder trust, and institutional voice.

Roles and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Corporate Brand Officer are organized across 7 primary areas:
1. Brand Narrative, Content & Storytelling
- Proactively identify, collect, and develop stories from across the Fulbright community, including academic programs, student life, faculty work, alumni, institutional milestones, partnerships, and campus activities.
- Translate raw story materials into clear, engaging, and brand-aligned content for different platforms, including website, social media, newsletters, media materials, event communications, and stakeholder updates.
- Develop content that supports Fulbright’s approved brand narrative, message hierarchy, tone of voice, and institutional priorities.
- Adapt content for different audiences and channels while maintaining clarity, consistency, credibility, and brand integrity.
- Collaborate with academic units, student-facing teams, alumni, admissions, development, and other internal stakeholders to gather information, verify details, and develop accurate communications materials.
- Support the development of captions, articles, short features, event announcements, press materials, internal communications, stakeholder emails, website updates, and other corporate brand content as assigned.
2. Brand Governance & Message Consistency
- Apply Fulbright’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, message hierarchy, and approved proof points across assigned communications materials.
- Support the basic review of corporate brand outputs to ensure consistency in visual identity, messaging, claims, naming, tone, and stakeholder-facing language.
- Maintain and update shared content assets, message references, image libraries, approved wording, story banks, and proof-point materials as assigned.
- Flag potential inconsistencies, unsupported claims, outdated information, unclear wording, or sensitive content for senior review.
- Help ensure that public-facing materials are accurate, coherent, and aligned with Fulbright’s institutional positioning.
3. Reputation Monitoring, Issues Support & Response Preparation
- Monitor public sentiment, social media conversations, media mentions, community discussions, and relevant education-sector trends that may affect Fulbright’s brand and reputation.
- Track and summarize key signals, emerging topics, misinformation risks, stakeholder concerns, and potential reputation issues.
- Maintain issue trackers, monitoring logs, screenshots, media notes, and relevant background materials as assigned.
- Support the preparation of issue summaries, Q&A documents, holding lines, response drafts, briefing notes, and other communications materials during sensitive situations or public discussions.
- Escalate reputation risks, sensitive wording, public concerns, or unusual patterns promptly to the Corporate Brand Lead or relevant senior team members.
4. Media Relations & Stakeholder Engagement Support
- Support the preparation of press releases, media pitches, media briefing notes, press kits, spokesperson materials, and post-event media follow-up.
- Help maintain media, journalist, KOL, influencer, community group, and stakeholder contact lists.
- Support coordination with media outlets, journalists, community groups, influencers, and other external stakeholders under the guidance of the Corporate Brand Lead.
- Track media coverage, stakeholder interactions, follow-up actions, and coverage outcomes.
- Assist in preparing materials that help raise Fulbright’s visibility and credibility through disciplined, accurate, and brand-aligned engagement.
5. Institutional Campaigns, Events & Brand Experience Support
- Support university events and institutional campaigns through event communications, content planning, media support, speaker notes, stakeholder emails, agency briefing, and post-event amplification.
- Coordinate assigned communications workstreams for events, including announcements, invitations, social content, event pages, scripts, signage copy, press materials, recap content, and follow-up communications.
- Help ensure that event touchpoints are consistent with Fulbright’s brand, message, tone, and audience experience.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, agencies, Studio, Operations, and event owners to deliver assigned outputs on time and on standard.
- Assist in on-site execution when needed, especially for communications, media, guest experience, content capture, and brand touchpoints.
6. Reporting, Intelligence & Learning
- Prepare regular reports on content performance, media coverage, social/media mentions, stakeholder engagement, and campaign or event communications results.
- Highlight key observations, risks, content learnings, audience signals, and recommended follow-up actions.
- Support basic analysis of digital performance, sentiment themes, media visibility, message pull-through, and content engagement.
- Help maintain dashboards, trackers, reporting templates, and learning notes for corporate brand activities.
- Use data and feedback to suggest improvements in content, channels, messaging, monitoring, and workflow.
7. Professional Judgment & Sensitive Communications
- Demonstrate strong judgment in handling sensitive institutional topics, public discussions, stakeholder-facing communications, and reputation-related materials.
- Check facts, sources, names, titles, dates, claims, quotes, data, and approved wording carefully before submission.
- Communicate with accuracy, discretion, cultural sensitivity, and respect for institutional trust.
- Understand when to escalate sensitive content, reputation risks, unsupported claims, or questions beyond approved messaging.
- Avoid language, framing, or claims that may create misunderstanding, reputational risk, or inconsistency with Fulbright’s approved institutional position.
What we look for
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Liberal Arts, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field.
Experience:
- We welcome candidates with a wide range of experience, from fresh graduates to early-career professionals with up to 3 years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, journalism, digital content, brand content, media relations, corporate communications, or related fields.
- Relevant internships, student projects, campus media, freelance work, volunteer communications work, or portfolio samples will be considered valuable experience.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in education, public affairs, social impact, nonprofit, culture, media, youth engagement, or mission-driven organizations is an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
