Reports to: Construction Superintendent 1 or 2

Time Commitment: Limited‑Duration July through September

Location: Work will primarily take place at Construction Sites located in SW Portland, however, travel to other locations may occasionally be required

Level: A

Compensation: $17.34/hour to $20.61/hour

Who You Are:

You’re someone who thrives in a hands‑on, people‑centered environment, while contributing to a welcoming, organized, and safety‑first experience for volunteers. As Crew Lead, you’ll support the Construction team staff in day‑to‑day activities and hosting groups of construction volunteers, helping them feel confident, capable, and connected to Habitat’s mission throughout their day on site. A typical shift includes helping set up tools, materials, and work areas to ensure sites are clean, organized, and ready for the day’s activities.

You will greet volunteers and assist with basic check‑in and orientation processes as directed by site staff. You will work alongside volunteers and team members to support simple construction tasks using basic tools, following established safety procedures and guidance from supervisors. You will help maintain a safe and orderly worksite by cleaning and organizing work areas, restocking supplies, and assisting with the care and storage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Throughout the day, you will follow direction from Construction team staff, help ensure materials and tools are used appropriately, and assist with site cleanup and closing tasks at the end of the shift.
