Ms.Medicine and its nonprofit sister organization, HERmedicine, are seeking a Social Media Community Engagement Specialist to foster meaningful engagement across social media platforms. This role is focused on community building and conversation rather than content creation. The specialist will proactively engage with other accounts, contribute to discussions on women’s health (particularly midlife health), and grow our brand presence through authentic interactions.

Objectives

Enhance brand visibility and engagement on social media by actively participating in conversations about women’s health.

Foster relationships with aligned organizations, healthcare professionals, and influencers in the women’s health space.

Strengthen the online community for both Ms.Medicine and HERmedicine by responding to comments, engaging with followers, and initiating discussions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Engagement & Community Growth

Monitor, engage, and respond to comments, mentions, and direct messages across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Like, comment, and share relevant content from aligned healthcare professionals, advocates, and organizations focused on women’s health.

Identify and engage with trending topics, hashtags, and discussions related to midlife women’s health, menopause, concierge medicine, and overall wellness.

Follow and interact with key accounts in the women’s health and healthcare policy space.

2. Proactive Outreach & Relationship Building

Develop and implement a strategy for engaging with relevant stakeholders (e.g., medical professionals, nonprofit partners, patient advocates).

Engage in LinkedIn discussions and relevant Facebook group conversations where applicable.

Build relationships with other healthcare organizations and influencers by engaging with their content consistently.

3. Content Amplification & Conversation Initiation

Share relevant content from Ms.Medicine and HERmedicine while engaging with related discussions.

Ask thought-provoking questions and contribute valuable insights in comment sections.

Occasionally suggest engagement-focused content ideas that could spark discussion.

4. Brand Voice & Compliance

Maintain a professional yet approachable brand voice that aligns with Ms.Medicine’s and HERmedicine’s mission.

Ensure all engagements adhere to HIPAA guidelines and Ms.Medicine’s communication policies.

Use inclusive language and a patient-centered approach in discussions.

Deliverables

Daily engagement on social platforms (Monday–Friday).

Weekly engagement report highlighting meaningful interactions, opportunities for deeper collaboration, and notable conversations.

Monthly check-ins with the Ms.Medicine team to refine engagement strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

Strong understanding of social media engagement strategies, particularly on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Passion for and knowledge of women’s health, especially midlife wellness, menopause, and concierge medicine.

Excellent written communication skills with the ability to convey complex health topics in an accessible way.

Experience engaging in online community management and professional networking.

Familiarity with HIPAA compliance in social media interactions (preferred but not required).

Preference will be given to candidates with education, experience, or licensing in women’s health (e.g., healthcare professionals, health educators, advocates with formal training).

Compensation & Contract Terms

Duration: Initial contract for 3 months, with the possibility of extension.

Hours: Estimated 10-15 hours per week, subject to adjustment based on engagement strategy.
