Los Angeles Regional Open Space and Affordable Housing (LA ROSAH)collaborative’s mission is to advance policies and strategies that prevent displacement in vulnerable communities related to urban greening investments and to create models for accessible, community-driven parks/open space and affordable housing joint development, including affordable housing production and preservation.
LA ROSAH is a fiscally sponsored project of Resources Legacy Fund (RLF) and as such all staff are employees of RLF. RLF builds alliances that advance bold solutions to secure a just and resilient world for people and nature. RLF partners with philanthropy, community groups, government, science, and business to promote smart policies and ensure equitable public funding that protect nature, address the climate crisis, and advance environmental equity and justice.

Position Summary:
The Communications Coordinator is a full-time, non-exempt position and reports to the LA ROSAH Program Director. Hiring for this position will be conducted in partnership with LA ROSAH and Resources Legacy Fund (RLF). Staff will be housed at the offices of LA ROSAH member organization Friends of the LA River at the Los Angeles River Center & Gardens.
The Communications Coordinator will provide staff support to thecollaborative, work with LA ROSAHcollaborativemembers and staff to develop aninnovativecommunications strategy to support LA ROSAH’s policy and organizing work around issues of economic and environmental justice, and engage with a wide range of stakeholders including community members, public agencies and elected officials.
Key Responsibilities:
Write engaging and accessible content for websites, email newsletters, educational materials, and social media platforms to reachdiverseaudiences including decision-makers, funders, journalists, and the general public.
Draft media advisories and press releases, track media hits, and develop targeted media contact lists.
Work with the Senior Community Organizer to provide storytelling and media trainings for impacted residents and LA ROSAH coalition members.
Use digital storytelling tactics to grow our social media following and engage with followers. Focus on sharing the experiences of vulnerable communities that have been historically under recognized in environmental movements.
Collaborate with the LA ROSAH team and member organizations to develop messaging for programmatic, educational, organizing, storytelling, and policy campaigns.
Lead the development of relevant talking points and educational materials to be used by LA ROSAH staff and partner organizations.
Manage the LA ROSAH website.
Collect, organize, and analyze digital engagement data to guide communications strategies and track audience engagement across platforms.
