Organization: Food for Others is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization helping Northern Virginia residents meet their basic need for food. We provide free, emergency food from our pantry, neighborhood, and mobile sites directly to clients; we supply other community organizations from our warehouse; and we supply thousands of weekend food packs for school children weekly during the school year. Food for Others is a mission-focused organization where the applicant can expect to become involved in all aspects of the food bank/food pantry operation.
Summary Statement of Position: Under the supervision of the Client Services Manager, the Client Intake Coordinator will manage the front desk, intake clients at the pantry, and perform a range of administrative tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages flow of office, visitors, clients, and front desk volunteer activities.
- Welcomes all visitors, volunteers, and clients to Food for Others’ food pantry.
- Performs client intake in Salesforce.
- Answer calls and respond to voicemails from clients, referring agents, and partners.
- Performs database cleanup activities in Salesforce and closing of all client transactions at close of business.
- Provide hands-on training for front desk volunteers and continually reinforce best practices and procedures.
- Supports client satisfaction surveys.
- Fills in as necessary to perform market tasks.
- Coordinate lunch schedules to ensure adequate Spanish language coverage at the front desk.
- Whenever possible, coordinate paid time off to ensure adequate Spanish language coverage at the front desk.
- Light housekeeping duties such as cleaning glass and door handles, replenishing paper products and soaps, etc. in the kitchen and restrooms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required, bachelor's degree preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint
- Experience with Salesforce or similar customer relationship management software
Status:
Full time
Hourly, Non-Exempt
Schedule:
9 am to 5:30 p.m. – Monday through Friday
