The Opportunity
Are you a visionary leader ready to build upon a powerful community legacy and champion true systemic change? The YWCA of Westmoreland County is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

This is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial nonprofit executive to lead a highly respected organization into its next chapter of growth, advocacy, and regional impact. Operating from a position of organizational strength, you will lead a dedicated team, champion vital equity initiatives, and scale diverse community programs—ranging from our transformative TechGYRLS STEM program and mobile technology initiatives to our thriving professional workwear social enterprise thrift shop. The Role & Strategic Focus
As CEO, you will serve as the strategic engine of the organization and the primary advisor to the Board of Directors. You will co-create the long-term vision, diversify funding streams, mentor an aligned internal team, and serve as the high-profile public face of our mission.

Your Impact/Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Visionary Governance

· Co-Create the Future: Partner with a highly engaged Board of Directors to design and execute a bold strategic roadmap.

· Guide with Insight: Provide data-driven counsel and transparent reporting to empower the board’s governance.

· Align Committees: Mobilize board committees to bridge community needs with sustainable operational goals.

Fiscal Management & Fund Development

· Budget Oversight: Develop the annual operating budget with the Finance Committee and oversee the Fiscal Manager.

· Fundraising & Grants: Create and implement a comprehensive fund development plan, encompassing donor cultivation, annual giving, and grant writing.

· Compliance: Ensure all contractual, legal, and tax obligations are met and reports are accurately delivered to donors.

Staff Administration & Culture

· Team Leadership: Manage personnel operations, including hiring, onboarding, supervising, and conducting performance appraisals.

· Culture Builder: Schedule regular staff meetings to foster alignment, maximize teamwork, and champion staff recognition.

· Direct Supervision: Directly supervise key roles, including the Fiscal Manager, Thrift Shop Director, and Maintenance staff.

Community Advocacy & Marketing

· Mission Representative: Serve as the public face of the YWCA, attending community events and serving on aligned external committees.

· Public Relations: Oversee a comprehensive marketing and public relations plan to increase community awareness of YWCA programs.

· Strategic Alliances: Maintain cooperative working relationships with the United Way and local foundations.

Facilities & Operations

· Asset Stewardship: Oversee the security, safety, upkeep, and capital needs of YWCA facilities.

· Risk Management: Coordinate with the Finance Committee to secure appropriate insurance for all properties.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Education & Experience

· Degree: Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university (equivalent executive experience will be considered).

· Leadership Experience: Multi-year track record of executive or senior-level management experience in the nonprofit sector.

· Development Success: Demonstrated success in fund development, donor cultivation, and grant management.

· Community Connection Strong familiarity with the Westmoreland County philanthropic and professional landscape.

Core Skills

· Visionary Thinking: Ability to anticipate the future needs of the organization and build strategic directions.

· Communication: Exceptional oral and written skills, with the ability to confidently present on complex or potentially controversial topics to community stakeholders.

· Analytical Skills: Keen problem-solving and critical thinking skills to guide sound operational decisions.

· Tech Savvy: Essential proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn Canva and QuickBooks database management.

Licensing & Physical Demands

· Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle for local, regional, and national travel.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

· Physical capacity for stair climbing, kneeling, multitasking, and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Interview Process & Timeline Expectations

We respect your time and aim to run an efficient, transparent selection process. To meet our goal of a late-October 2026 onboarding date, we anticipate to the following estimated timeline:

· Applications Reviewed: On a rolling basis through September 2026.

· Round 1 (Initial Screening): A 30-minute in person conversation focused on mission alignment and core leadership experience.

· Round 2 (Panel Interview): An in-depth, presentation and interview with key members of our Search Committee and Board.

· Round 3 (Final Interview & Meet the Team): On-site meetings, a facility tour, and final conversations.

· Offer Extended: By early to mid-November2026.
