To build the resilience of low-income community members who face high risk of economic hardship and displacement following natural disasters, the Community Outreach and Engagement VISTA project will build the capacity of TPMG Corp (Techos Pa’ Mi Gente) by developing a sustainable community outreach and engagement system for its Community Resiliency Center. The VISTA member will design and implement outreach strategies, a community ambassador program, and resident participation pathways that connect families to the Center’s community resiliency workshops, community garden, and solidarity closet program equipping residents with the skills, social networks, and community-built resources they need to withstand and recover from disasters.
