Program Overview – Live-In Treatment Program
Turning Point Youth Services (TPYS) is an accredited, non-profit agency serving youth (12 to 24 years of age) and their families in the east end of Toronto. Turning Point’s mission is to empower youth to make positive change. To accomplish this, it offers a continuum of services focusing on mental health, housing/sheltering, and youth justice. Turning Point Youth Services and Wood Green Community Services announced on July 2, 2024, the integration of the two organizations.
This combination will enable a more effective and integrated approach to providing comprehensive support services for youth in the GTA.
Using a trauma-informed approach within a milieu setting, we have two supportive live-in treatment programs for youth ages 12 to 17. These youth come to us with complex mental health issues, including developmental needs and underlying challenges whose needs cannot be served using a community-based approach. Staff also provide family counselling where possible to support the youth in their treatment goals.
We offer short-term/transitional services designed to stabilize, assess, and recommend next steps, as well as longer-term services in which the end-date is determined by the completion of agreed-upon treatment goals or age.
