Position: Youth Pastor / Director at Evangelical Formosan Church Irvine
Many youths struggle with the Christian faith after leaving home for college. We seek a youth pastor or director who will partner with parents in raising up young disciples of the Lord Jesus. We want our kids to build a solid foundation of faith in the Lord Jesus that will continue when they go away to college.
Job Description
Youth Group Job Duties
Lead weekly Friday Night Fellowship, including Bible studies
Give talks regarding the Bible study for the night
Organize small groups and small group leaders for discussion and prayer
Send guides/questions for small group leaders to use
Plan fun and relationship-building activities
Communicate with parents
Find suitable Bible study materials and plan a calendar for the school year
Help our kids to read their Bibles daily: e.g., prepare and send weekly Bible study lessons for youth to read on their own as their daily devotional, or suggest devotional materials
Discipleship and Training
Help form and lead impactful small groups
Train young adult volunteers and parents of the youth to be disciple-makers or Small Group Leaders (SGL)
Counseling – Be able to offer counseling to the youth that are struggling in their faith.
Building friendship and trust by organizing hang-out times in small group settings.
