Youth Minister

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary’s campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church is seeking a faith-filled and dedicated Youth Minister to coordinate the parish youth ministry program while also teaching 8th grade religion at Mary Queen of Peace School. This part-time role is responsible for engaging and forming young people in their faith, fostering discipleship, and supporting their active participation in the life of the Church. The ideal candidate will model Christian values and inspire youth to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead the parish youth ministry program
- Plan and facilitate regular youth meetings, activities, and faith formation opportunities
- Collaborate with the pastor, parish staff, faculty, families, and the Archdiocesan Youth Office to ensure effective ministry
- Lead youth participation in programs such as the Luke 18 Retreat and Steubenville Mid-America Conference
- Teach one 8th grade religion class four days per week (approximately 45 minutes per class)
- Develop lesson plans and lead students in prayer, faith-based discussions, and religious instruction
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on assignments and projects
- Prepare youth for participation in Sunday Liturgies, prayer services, and service-learning activities
- Foster an environment that encourages discipleship, service, and active involvement in parish life
- Maintain communication with students, families, and parish leadership
Job Qualifications
Practicing Catholic in good standing who supports the mission of the Church and school
Strong knowledge of Catholic doctrine, traditions, and teachings
Ability to engage, inspire, and relate to young people
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
Teaching certification preferred but not required
Experience in youth ministry, education, or related field preferred
Ability to encourage responsible participation in the life and mission of the Church
Commitment to forming young disciples of Jesus Christ
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and attend youth events as required
