Engage and inspire youth as a Mentor with the YMCA of Fredericton. This role focuses on building relationships and enhancing youth development through direct mentorship sessions.
This position is perfect for individuals 19 years of age or older who are active YMCA members. Mentors will meet with youth weekly or monthly, forming meaningful connections while encouraging facility etiquette. You will promote values aligned with the YMCA’s mission and contribute positively to the community by guiding and supporting youth during gatherings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meet with youth regularly for mentorship sessions
• Attend youth recreational drop-ins to build relationships
• Encourage proper facility etiquette among participants
• Collaborate with YMCA staff to resolve issues
• Follow the YMCA Staff and Volunteer Guide
Requirements:
• Must be 19 years or older
• Active YMCA membership and participation
• Positive Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience in humanities/social sciences or equivalent
