Job Summary
The Youth Empowerment Program Coordinator manages, along with other members of the YEP team, the operations and development of the program’s curriculum to ensure the success of YEP. This role supports the organization’s mission to create sustainable futures through our youth in schools to relieve generational and situational poverty. He/She will provide administrative support to the Board of Directors and Helping Hands team.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education Needed
Experiencing working with youth, specifically middle and high school
Experiencing working in a nonprofit organization, a plus
Knowledge of our education system, Georgetown County School District preferred
Education in youth specific studies or relevant work experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite as well as experience with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom, GoTo Meeting, etc.
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, writing, organizations and communication skills
In depth knowledge of social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
Ability to work with diverse communities
Flexibility and willingness to work nights and weekends
Local Travel is required
Job Details
Builds relationships with parents/guardians, churches, schools, other nonprofits and community leaders
Responsible for recruiting students
Be a career coach/mentor to students in the program
Maintains a positive and encouraging relationship with students and parents/guardians
Ensures data collection for reporting and updates to board, grant reporting and individual funders, as requested
Tracks students progress and completion of YouScience
Strengthen and grow curriculum of program, to include: weekly in-school learning sessions, ensure program goals and integrity are upheld, schedule and oversight of monthly workshops/events/volunteer opportunities, leader of annual Outward Bound experience
Cultivates relationships with employers to partner with the program
Works with school officials to create win/win relationships that promote the success of students within the program
Develops annual YEP budget along with key staff members and ensure expenses are within budget
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $30,000 – $40,000
