Northbridge Baptist Church is a Bible-centered faith community in beautiful Charleston, SC. Our ministry focus emphasizes discipleship, with in-depth Bible teaching and heartfelt spiritual worship in a diverse and growing community. We are searching for our next outstanding part-time Worship Director to join our ministry team.
Requirements for **
Must be a born-again Christian with a clear faith testimony and a calling to serve the local church.
Must have a proven (video or live observation) gifting to play musical instrument(s) and to sing and lead church worship in a predominantly contemporary music style, with some traditional blended in.
Should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in worship in a local church setting.
Must be available to work on a part-time basis, typically 15 hours per week (approximately 5 hours on Sundays, and ~10 more hours in preparation, planning, and band practice each week).
Must either already reside in the Charleston area or be willing to relocate to that area.
Must be able to read and play chord charts on a lead instrument (e.g., guitar, keyboard, bass); the ability to read sheet music is a bonus but not required.
Must have the administrative skills to use church management software to schedule a volunteer worship band weekly.
(40%) Leads the worship music portion of our weekly Church Services on Sunday mornings; organizes weekly rehearsals with the worship band in preparation for Sunday worship; attends weekly Church services.
(40%) Prays, chooses songs that complement the sermons for the week, and leads weekly worship practice to help provide a compelling and biblically accurate worship experience; uploads song set materials into Planning Center Services and distributes to band members for practice and performance; works with the Sr. Pastor to develop the order of service each week.
(10%) Recruits and trains members of the praise band as necessary.
(10%) Participates in weekly Staff meetings of the church (in person or remotely); commits to praying for the church, the worship ministry and its volunteers.
