About Us: Adopt America Network (AAN) is a nonprofit organization that connects children waiting in foster care with permanent families while providing support before, during, and after the family is united. AAN was founded in 1983 by Richard K. Ransom who was the founder of Hickory Farms and also dedicated his life to helping children. Within this time, we have placed over 4,700 children with permanent families. Today, we provide matching services for families along with support groups and events catered to adoptive, kinship, and foster families. Additionally, we operate a child-focused recruitment program for children in Northwest Ohio along with a state-wide home assessor program for public and private agencies.
About the Role: Adopt America Network facilitates the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids Program made possible by funding through the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Through this program, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption supports the hiring of adoption professionals, known as recruiters, who are dedicated to finding permanent homes for children most at risk of aging out of foster care without a family. That includes youth ages 9 and older, children with special needs and sibling groups. Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiters use an evidence based, child-focused recruitment model to find the right family for every child.
