Position Title: FOH Team Member – Lunch Service
Department: FOH
Reports To: Jasmine Kitchen Operations Director and Front-of-House Manager
Status: Part Time Hourly, NON-EXEMPT
Salary Range: $14-15/hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Benefits: No nights, weekends or holidays, free meals, employee discount
POSITION SUMMARY:
This FOH Position works as one of three team members behind the serving counter who fulfill all orders five days per week during lunch service hours which are 11:00 am – 2:30 pm as well as manages station setup, cleaning and closing duties. Duties could also include rotating into other positions during lunch service as needed, cleaning and packing boxed lunch catering. We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and flexible team member to work in our beautiful lunch restaurant that is part of a community of support for women.
The restaurant is a high-volume business serving a menu based on healthy scratch-made soups, salads, sandwiches and sweets through counter service and take out Monday-Friday. There will be an emphasis on working with and mentoring residents and graduates from the Jasmine Road Residential Program to help them develop marketable culinary expertise as well as valuable life skills. Jasmine Road seeks to empower women in recovery from substance abuse and staff will be expected to model behavior that is supportive of this mission.
COMPETENCIES:
● FOH or BOH restaurant experience and strong customer service skills
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
● Can read and fill orders for in-person customers and to-go orders
● Excellent oral communication skills and ability to maintain patience and kindness under pressure
● Ability to build strong relationships in collaborative team-oriented environment
● Willingness to perform any duty no matter how menial
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
● Works in the position 5 days per week during busy lunch service, shift is from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
● Assists with station setup and closing duties including mopping, bussing and cleaning kitchen or dining area
● Greets customers and helps promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
● Works alongside and mentors team members with varying levels of skills and experience
● Complies with all requirements for safety and sanitation in accordance with DHEC regulations and strives to keep a clean work environment
● Develops strong relationships with the women from the Jasmine Road program to encourage their individual development and serves as a mentor and positive role model
● Contributes to a culture where everyone feels safe, valued, loved and supported
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
● 1-2 years of FOH restaurant experience, preferred
● ServSafe Food-handler Certificate, preferred
● Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check
● Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed for 5 hour shift
● Must be able to lift 40 pounds
