Are you passionate about helping others succeed? Do you believe in the power of second chances and the dignity of work? The Work Shoppe is looking for compassionate, motivated individuals to join our mission of empowerment and transformation.

The Work Shoppe will be more than a clothing store — it’s a launchpad for dignity, empowerment, and community. We will provide affordable work attire and accessories for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce, especially those who have experienced homelessness, addiction recovery, incarceration, or other major life transitions.

Whether someone is heading to a first interview, starting a new chapter, or simply trying to rebuild, The Work Shoppe exists to say: “You are welcome here, and you deserve to succeed.” Our space will be designed to be empowering, welcoming, and inclusive — a place where everyone gets a chance to start fresh and pay it forward.

Volunteer Roles Available

We are currently seeking:

Board Members (Strategic Leadership)

We are seeking passionate individuals to serve on our Board of Directors to help guide The Work Shoppe into its next chapter of growth and sustainability.

Ideal Candidates Have:

A heart for service and social justice

Experience in nonprofit leadership, finance, legal, HR, community organizing, or lived experience aligned with our mission

Commitment to attending quarterly meetings and supporting fundraising efforts

Your voice and perspective can help shape a more inclusive, impactful future for our organization.

Research and identify relevant grant opportunities

Write compelling proposals to secure funding for our programs and expansion

Collaborate with leadership to align grant goals with organizational vision

Marketing & Advertising Volunteers (Remote)

We’re looking for creative, driven individuals to help us increase our visibility, grow our impact, and tell our story to the world.

Develop and execute marketing strategies (digital & print)

Manage or contribute to our social media channels

Assist with media outreach and promotional campaigns

Help build our brand in alignment with our mission

Background in marketing, communications, advertising, or related field (students welcome!)

Strong writing, design, or social media skills

Familiarity with tools like Canva, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, or similar platforms (a plus)

Passion for social impact, storytelling, and uplifting communities

What You Bring

A heart for service and social equity

Strong communication skills and a welcoming attitude

For grant writers: experience in nonprofit fundraising or writing (preferred but not required)

Willingness to commit at least a few hours per month
