About the Role
Elmjack Little League is dedicated to fostering a love of baseball/softball, teamwork, and sportsmanship among young athletes in our community. Our vision is to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where players, families, and volunteers come together to celebrate the joy of the game.
We’re seeking a passionate, creative Volunteer Social Media Manager to help amplify our league’s story, engage families and supporters, and promote events, fundraisers, and community initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who loves storytelling, thrives on community engagement, and wants to make a difference through the power of social media.
Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Execution
Develop and execute a social media plan to promote Elmjack Little League’s mission, games, events, and community impact.
Manage content calendars and post regularly across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Highlight player achievements, volunteer spotlights, and league milestones.
Content Creation & Management
Create engaging, family-friendly content (photos, videos, graphics, and captions) to showcase games, practices, and league spirit.
Collaborate with coaches, volunteers, and parents to gather content (e.g., game highlights, player interviews).
Repost/share community and Little League International updates.
Community Engagement
Monitor and respond to comments/messages in a timely, positive manner.
Encourage interaction by running fun campaigns (e.g., “Player of the Week,” “Throwback Thursday” team photos).
Help promote fundraisers, registration drives, and volunteer opportunities.
Performance Tracking
Track engagement metrics (likes, shares, follower growth) to refine strategy.
Report on social media impact to the board/volunteer team.
Collaboration
Work with league officials, coaches, and volunteers to align messaging.
Assist with digital outreach for special events (Opening Day, tournaments, parades).
About You
You’d be a great fit if you:
Have experience managing social media (personal, professional, or volunteer).
Can create simple graphics (Canva, etc.) or edit short videos (bonus but not required).
Are enthusiastic about youth sports and community building.
Communicate warmly and professionally with families and sponsors.
Are reliable and able to dedicate the necessary time.
