Volunteer Services Manager Gilchrist Jobs in Cockeysville, Maryland, USA at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC)

The Volunteer Manager will oversee the recruitment, training, and management of a robust volunteer program within our hospice services. This role is responsible for supervising up to 7 Volunteer Coordinators and maintaining effective oversight of over 400 volunteers. Additionally, the Volunteer Manager will manage the internship program, ensuring that interns gain valuable experience while contributing meaningfully to the hospice program. The Volunteer Manager will ensure that all volunteers and interns are well-prepared, supported, and engaged in roles that align with the goals and mission of our hospice program.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources) or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in volunteer management, preferably within a healthcare or hospice setting.

Skills:

Proven leadership and supervisory skills with experience managing a large team.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse groups.

Knowledge of hospice care principles and practices is highly desirable.

Strong conflict management skills.

Proficiency in using volunteer management software and other relevant technologies.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to ten pounds maximum and occasionally lift and/or carry small items.

Working Conditions: This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to accommodate volunteer schedules and program events. The role involves both office-based work and occasional travel within the community for meetings and events.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $56,785.43 – $90,856.69. Final salary will be based on qualifications, education, experience, and organizational needs.
