The Borgen Project is an international organization working to address global poverty by influencing U.S. and U.K. foreign policy. With 20 years of experience, it has supported legislation benefiting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Regional Director:
You will serve as a Borgen Project Ambassador in your city, mobilizing your community to contact government officials and support poverty reduction legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with local government leaders and lobby for legislation that improves living conditions for the world’s poor.
Mobilize community members to contact their government representatives in support of poverty reduction legislation.
Manage and implement fundraising campaigns.
Build a network of engaged supporters.
Serve as The Borgen Project’s ambassador locally.
Qualifications
Understanding of politics and international development.
Highly organized with good time management skills.
Team player with innovative ideas.
Decisive with independent judgment.
Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation abilities.
Location: U.S., U.K., and Canada
Salary: Unpaid
Duration: 6 months
Hours: 4-6 hours per week
Start Date: Flexible; start any month you choose
