Position: Volunteer Mary’s Meals

Description:
Mary’s Meals provides a daily meal in a place of education for children living in some of the world’s poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education. The meal attracts children to the classroom, and the education that they receive can be their ladder out of poverty in the future. Currently, Mary’s Meals Canada provides these meals to children living in Malawi, Africa, where the cost to feed a child a daily meal for one year is just $26.40.

Volunteer Opportunity
Description of Duties:
Share the inspiring work of Mary’s Meals with your community
Host events and initiatives to raise awareness and funds
Engage with schools, places of faith, businesses, and community groups
Utilize your unique skills and gifts to support our cause
Support national campaigns and events
Be a driving force in changing children’s lives through Mary’s Meals
We have a range of activities that your group of Community Ambassadors can do from the comfort of their home.
Skills Required:
Must be 18 or over
Passionate about the work of Mary’s Meals and excited to become an expert on the program
Available to commit to the requirements of the role
Strong leadership/communication and relational skills
Team player, adaptable and flexible with your time commitment
You are engaged in your community and a gatherer of people; also seen as an “influencer”
Available evenings and weekends as required for campaign/event support & training
Skills Gained/Related Careers:
Media training
Public speaking
Gain experience on volunteer management
