Food Pantry Volunteer role at Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals seeking recovery from alcohol and drugs at no charge. We’re free.
We are an offshoot of Above and Beyond Family Recovery Center in West Garfield, sharing the same work ethic and commitment to helping our community. Our location provides groceries, toiletries, clothing, group sessions, and peer-to-peer training. Our staff and volunteers are compassionate and dedicated to service.
Volunteers will assist in providing food assistance to Chicago residents during economic hardships. Responsibilities include stocking food, meeting client needs, and performing physical tasks such as bending, standing, lifting up to fifty pounds, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning counters. The environment can be fast-paced.
We welcome individuals needing community service hours and those eager to help others in need.
Our hours are Monday through Friday, 12 pm to 3 pm, with volunteer opportunities before, during, and after food distribution.
This volunteer position is offered in partnership with Volunteer Match and Linked In for Good.
