Job Summary:
As the Volunteer Engagement Manager for the Veteran Project Manager Mentor Alliance (VPMMA), you will help create a positive and rewarding experience for our volunteers. Working closely with the Director of HR and the Volunteer Manager, you will focus on keeping volunteers engaged, supported, and connected to our mission.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a military background or a passion for serving veterans and military families. The role requires a commitment of 5-10 hours per week for at least six months.
Duties:
Support Volunteer Engagement & Retention – Help ensure volunteers feel valued and connected by checking in regularly and addressing concerns.
Assist with Recognition & Appreciation – Help develop ways to celebrate volunteer contributions through events, shoutouts, and milestone recognition.
Maintain Communication & Coordination – Keep volunteers informed about opportunities, events, and organizational updates through emails, social media, and direct outreach.
Track Volunteer Participation – Assist in monitoring engagement and participation, providing feedback to the Director of HR to improve the volunteer experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Military affiliation (veteran, active duty, spouse, or supporter) strongly preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for supporting veterans and military families
Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team
**Experience in volunteer management or community engagement is a plus, but not required**
