Volunteer Engagement Lead – CIBC Run for the Cure – Saint John
As a logistics leadership volunteer, you will be part of our organizing committees of 10 to 15 volunteers who will work over the months to help us organize our fundraising events. Depending on the needs in your community, available roles could include committee lead, logistics, community outreach, volunteer lead, and social media. The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run.
This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

Commitment: 3-6 hours/month

Dates and Times
This is a 6-month commitment (May through October) with the following expectations:
Attending local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly).
Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 4-6 hours per month with increased workload in August & September).
Must be available over the event weekend (October 4 &
5).
Position Responsibilities
As the Volunteer Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for:
Working alongside all committee leads to determine volunteer requirements for event day.
Supporting the Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator to determine potential ways to recruit event day volunteers.
Actively promoting the volunteer needs within your community.
Contacting all potential volunteers and scheduling them accordingly.
Managing volunteer check-in for set-up and event day.
Overseeing all event day volunteers.
Required Qualifications
Communication and interpersonal skills. A strong sense of self-motivation and time management.
