Seeking volunteers interested in expanding our social media and content creation. Experience with video, video editing, and You Tube channel management is a plus. Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, X, Tik Tok, and Linked In is also beneficial.
The volunteer will work with the Director of Operations, Executive Director, and Philanthropic Consultant to promote events, share news, and more for our farm animal sanctuary. A minimum of four hours each week are requested, though you are welcome to join us for more. Applicants should have their own laptop and relevant software (Photoshop, Illustrator, or web-based platforms like Canva is a plus).
No West Place information will be housed on your computer.
Attention to detail, good communication skills, and timely completion are essential.
West Place Animal Sanctuary rescues farm animals from abuse, neglect, and cruelty and provides them with a permanent home and lifelong care. We rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife in Rhode Island and release healthy animals back into their natural habitats. We also operate the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton. Through our humane education programs, West Place educates the public, offers hands-on educational experiences through our immersive student internships, and cultivates a more compassionate community.
Description
Founded in 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving care, love, and a permanent home to farm animals rescued from cases of abuse, neglect, and cruelty. It is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that assists sick, injured, and orphaned animals, and releases healthy wildlife back into their natural habitats. It also serves as the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton.
West Place has a network of 75+ volunteers, who provide essential animal care 365 days a year, and the organization provides unique hands-on humane education experiences to students to cultivate a more compassionate community.
