Position: AmeriCorps VISTA Leader
Ameri Corps VISTA Leader
The VISTA Leader for the High Point University project will oversee the
professional development
and
sustainability
of the work accomplished by the HPU VISTA cohort. By engaging with individual VISTA members and their community partners, the Leader will provide guidance and support, ensuring progress toward established goals. Through
collaboration
with the entire VISTA cohort, the Leader will help develop the professional skills of the members and ensure that the program as a whole contributes to alleviating poverty and building the capacity of the local community.
As the leader of a six-member cohort, you will receive housing and a meal plan while making a tangible impact in High Point. Throughout your service year, you will also have access to
professional development opportunities
, including training sessions, networking events, and career-building workshops, in addition to serving as a key staff member for the Center for
Community Engagement

Duties
:
As an HPU Ameri Corps VISTA Leader, your responsibilities may include: creating and organizing monthly
professional development opportunities
that align with the VISTA team’s personal and professional goals; providing mentorship and guidance to VISTA members; collaborating with VISTAs and community partners to support project success, address challenges, and ensure progress; meeting regularly with each VISTA and their site supervisor to review goals and address any issues;
leading weekly cohort check-in meetings; and collecting and analyzing project assessment data.
