Role Description The Vice President is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in the Utica-Rome Area. This position oversees strategic planning and execution across key programs and operations, ensuring alignment with RCIL’s mission of advancing disability equity and independent living. The Vice President will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets and performance targets, and establish structures that support high-quality service delivery and regulatory compliance. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with senior leadership on organizational priorities, monitoring operational effectiveness, developing policies and procedures, and cultivating partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders. The role also involves mentoring managers, promoting inclusive practices, and representing RCIL in external forums to strengthen the organization’s visibility and impact.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including experience guiding diverse teams, overseeing complex operations, and driving organizational performance.
- Strategic planning and execution capabilities, with experience setting priorities, managing budgets, and aligning initiatives with mission and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of healthcare, human services, and disability-related policy, including familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and community-based support systems.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, community partners, and public agencies.
- Experience promoting equity, inclusion, and person-centered practices, preferably within organizations serving people with disabilities or other marginalized communities.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage change, navigate complex environments, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Relevant educational background such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in management, public administration, health or human services, social work, or a related field.
- Track record of compliance, risk management, and quality improvement in mission-driven or nonprofit
