Reporting to the Deputy Chief Philanthropy Officer and collaborating closely with Senior Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Vice President, Principal Gifts (VP) leads the team responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective donors with a giving capacity of $1M to $10M. The VP will oversee a team of eight-nine, including seven gift officers, and will have appropriate patient-facing responsibilities.
The VP partners with Prospect Research and a new Faculty Engagement function to set priorities and determine portfolios, articulate Institute objectives to gift audiences, and establish individual and team goals based on actions and behaviors (KPIs) needed to reach ambitious revenue targets established based on Institute priorities. They will lead and manage their budget and strategically organize and plan their team’s work aligned with Division goals.
The VP participates as a member of the Division of Philanthropyleadershipteam and is responsible for advancing Division-wide goals and initiatives throughcollaborativeproblem solvingand decision making.
The ideal candidate brings a growth mindset when evaluating the strengths of existing philanthropic programs and identifying opportunities for improvement andcollaboration. The VP is adynamicand strategic leader with a proven ability to secure transformative gifts of $1 million or more. They will possess exceptional relationship-building skills, inspiring trust andcollaborationwith donors, institutional leaders, and colleagues across the Division of Philanthropy.

The onboarding of this role will include acomprehensive trainingprocess which includes completion of online modules, shadowing colleagues, as well ashands-on learningexperiences throughout the first calendar year in the role.
